People usually follow through with actions which are within their moral set. And so the murderer will kill, the thief will steal. Manipulation will be on the cards for those who have this in them. Drug use, abuse of another person, cheating on taxes, going to war, prostitution, disregard of the environment and mishandling of public property are other examples.
What is the pattern here? As our aim may be to prove that we don't feel good enough about ourselves, we are capable of doing almost anything.
We'd probably admit, on reflection, that if we were able to have controlled our impulses, we would not have done many or all of those things. Even hardened criminals and murderers may come clean and say this of their inhumane deeds. Usually, these activities don't sit well with us before doing them, while we're doing them, or even afterward.
What about, "doing what I like doing?" When we look at ourselves, we'll observe that when we do what feels fulfilling and peaceful, automatically, we will not need to force ourselves to carry out the task or action.
It's highly likely that when we walk our own path, when we manifest our meaning, we're automatically doing the things we like doing.
Be warned that there will be times when we will have to do things we'd rather not do, even when walking our own journey. After making sure there's no other way, we're likely to still have to do certain things we'd prefer not to. As an example, from time to time, though not often, we might find ourselves in a situation where we need to confront another person. This is something we probably won't like to do, but we would still step up to the task and as a result we would end up confronting the other person.
