If you want to copy the video files from your DVD so that you can play it on another player or something, then you need to do what we call "ripping a DVD." Instead of simply copying the high quality DVD files to another disk, you will just be extracting the video and audio to one file.
If you do rip the DVD you won't have the menu options and functionality, however you can possibly retain the subtitles if you choose the right type of program.
3. Doing all of this in one program:
I recommend certain tools that will actually be able to do all of this for you, all in one. So you don't need to use one program to copy the DVD to another disk, and you don't need to get this other program to copy the DVD to your hard drive.
