"We strongly condemn the publication of blasphemous caricatures of Holy Prophet we are on Facebook," said foreign ministry spokesman Abdul Basit told reporters in the capital, Islamabad."The attack is dangerous and insulting the hurt feelings of Muslims worldwide," he said.
Islam strictly forbids depiction of the prophet as an insult.
Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA) extend the ban on Facebook by the court until May 31 including the closure of the popular video sharing site YouTube and Wikipedia.
PTA says it has blocked more than 450 links to offensive material on the Internet, by reason of containing obscene content.
On Friday morning, Facebook page has attracted 105 000 fans and filled with photographs and caricatures of Photoshop.
Facebook blocked in Pakistan expressed disappointment and said that is considering whether the offending pages in order not to be accessible in Pakistan.
