To Obtain Your Desires, Consider Using Positive Daily Affirmations

By Arthur M. Taylor

Positive daily affirmations can be powerful for helping you achieve a positive outlook on life. The most important thing to remember about them is that they all have common components in them. If you look at some positive daily affirmations and take one at random, you will be able to analyze it and find the common thread that they all share. For example, look that statement "I am a positive influence to those around me". If you divide this statement up into its three core parts, you will find the ideal formula for creating your own positive daily affirmations.

Daily affirmations are statements said in the present tense that you reiterate daily. When used with intent, your daily affirmations can go beyond positive thinking and create lasting changes in your mind to help you to change your life.Simple daily affirmations like, "I am successful in my work" can be a great handy tool that we can use to reprogram our subconscious mind. Most successful people tend to devote at least 15 minutes a day, to practice his or her daily affirmations in a quiet and unobtrusive place. These are your private moments where you tell your subconscious mind what you want to achieve in your life.

There are also ways for you to subtly plant your daily affirmations such that you will automatically read to yourself while going through your everyday routine. You can easily stick affirmation cards which you have pre-written yourself on places like the bathroom mirror, the car's dashboard, your desk in the office, the refrigerator's door, the computer desktop, the phone's screensaver and other places that you will look at everyday. When writing or practicing daily affirmations, use words that are positive such as bright, capable, creative, strong, intelligent, beautiful, smart, giving, quick, peaceful, loving, successful and enjoyable. Combine these words into phrases that you can relate and understand easily. Examples of daily affirmations are such as, 'Have fun, be a WINNER' or 'Take the LEAD, be in CONTROL'.

The last part of the example positive daily affirmations is the affirmation itself. This is important since it is stating the goal that you want to achieve. You are defining it in a clear, yet concise way that is easy to remember. This is where your desired end result will be placed. Setting your goals then putting in the form of a statement is the best way to do this, yet be as specific as you can be. Notice that the example says not only that you will be a positive influence, but also who you will influence. It is the result that you wish others to see in you. Creating simple yet definitive positive daily affirmations is how you will know what achievements you have accomplished already.

You can write positive thoughts and say them aloud. This will remind you about them and will keep you in a good mood always. Make sure that you concentrate on the present. Instead of saying you will have a fulfilling life, tell yourself you are already living a fulfilling life. You can write down these thoughts in post-its and place them on the refrigerator, mirror or in your room where you could see them. You can also be more creative by recording yourself as you utter these positive thoughts so that you will remember them and feel good as you listen to them. A favorite daily affirmation of mine comes from Charles Haanel's book The Master Key System which reads as follows: I am whole, perfect, strong, powerful, loving, harmonious and happy.I believe it is really important to have daily affirmations written down. On preferably on 3 X 5" index cards. To help keep them neat looking. Place them somewhere, where it reminds you to read them out loud. With lots of enthusiasm!

You can have written down your goals on 3 X 5" cards, and look at them daily. By reading them out loud, everyday, with lots of enthusiasm, it helps to strongly place them into the subconscious mind. When something is in the subconscious mind, it's believed that the subconscious mind helps us with what we continually affirm out loud, with lots of excitement. Also by saying daily affirmations, over, and over, and over again, it helps to build confidence in us. I can't stress enough, the importance of daily affirmations, over the long run. For as we thinketh, we become.

This will work for many positive daily affirmations, but for illustration purposes you can look at a single, simple affirmation as an example: "Today is a great day." This is a statement that many people will find themselves familiar with, since they use it. A positive daily affirmation is a statement, or set of statements that you say to yourself in order to program your subconscious mind into thinking the way of the statement. In the example, you are getting your mind to view the day as a good day. When your mind imagines that the day is going good, then it will seem as if it is true. That isn't to say that it is faking you out or lying to you, rather your subconscious is viewing the events of the day in a positive light rather than a negative one.

When I first started studying about affirmations over a decade ago, I was skeptical of them, but after time I started seeing real good positive results. That's where the practice of hope, and faith can come begin it, until one has a knowledge of something that's effective through repetitive use.I suggest even writing some daily affirmations on the mirror in the bathroom at home, because so it can be seen daily, and I encourage you to read the daily affirmations daily out loud. For self-esteem, and for, I believe, to do things really effectively, a person's self-esteem, plays a big part. One affirmation that I believe also helps to do that, is the daily affirmation "I am number one!"

One of the key benefits of positive daily affirmations is that you will draw like-minded people to you. An interesting exercise to do sometime is watch two different people interact. If one has positive thoughts in their mind, while the other has negative thoughts, the negative thinking person will tend to walk away from the positive thinker. This is a classic case of the old adage "misery loves company". The truth of the matter is that if a person is unhappy, generally they don't want to be around people who are happy. However, other people who use positive daily affirmations will group together since they all share a positive outlook on things. This entire group of people will draw off of the positive energy of each other, in turn strengthening their own good feelings. Before long, you have an entire group of people using positive daily affirmations that are walking around in a virtual euphoria.

So what are positive daily affirmations? They are a way to train your mind into thinking good thoughts, which result in a positive outlook on life. They are a way to buoy your spirits and make anything come true, no matter what your heart's desire. These affirmations are also a way to help other like-minded thinkers into sharing your view of life. In short, positive daily affirmations are a set of statements you use to create ideal situations for yourself, no matter what happens that may seem to be an obstacle.
