The entire world is trying to get to you, one way or the other, with its untruths and unusual beliefs; therefore will you be taken in, or will you discover the truth? As we enter 2012, 2 of the top articles in their category, as determined by Google, have messages that are opposite. One speaks of a mass paradigm shift, in or around 2012, that might give folks the opportunity to choose their destiny between that which is good and that which is bad, and with a little bit of luck enough will choose the right way to bring in a new world. This conjecture relies on a transcendental article authored by a PhD in metaphysics. The other piece discusses the Mayan prediction of the end of the Earth in 2012. Which are we to believe?
I opt to believe neither and I should tell you why: To believe that there is going to be "an occurrence of mass awakening all at once in the human race" is highly unlikely, considering the decades of a moral downward spiral in the world; plus, the Bible teaches just the reverse. According to the Bible, this world is on a crash course with the judgment of The Lord God. That judgment is anticipated and released in the Book of Revelation.
Also, to believe some very old prediction the world is going to end on December 22, 2012 is no more rational than believing all of the other end of the planet prophecies, which have come and gone.
I do not claim to understand what will happen in 2012. But one thing is certain; we shall, doubtless, be facing problems and some could be different from anything we've known in the past. Some believe that our central government is on the edge of collapse due to the great national debt. If that was to occur, then the economy as well as the monetary system would follow that lead. This would bring in extraordinary changes in how we live, and reduce this country from its present super power status to that of a third world country. There is not any way to know if which will really happen until it does, if it does. Hopefully there will be solutions put in place before anything on a full scale collapse could happen.
In 2012, there may continue to be war and violence around the world. The world will continue to use up all the natural resources available, with greed being the driver. People will continue hunting for anything that gives a reasonable answer to what life is all about. The evolutionist will continue to say that there's no meaning or downright truth, and a lot of people will be cheated and believe any new thing that comes along.
Really the world could come to a close in 2012, but not because the ancient Mayans anticipated it. Only he who created heaven and earth knows when the end of the world will come. Jesus announced, "But of that day and hour knows no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only", Matthew 24:36.
Is there a reliable answer, in this sector of confusing and conflicting predictions? Or must we continue to grope in darkness like a bunch of blind men trying to inspect the noon day sun with a lightening bug. It appears the more ridiculous the claim is today, the more followers it collects.
The facts, according to the only book of true predictions, which hasn't ever been wrong, the Bible, the world will pass away and the heavens also, and God will force a new heaven and a new earth, Revelation 21:1. It's right that there's going to be a huge change occur in the future, but it is not going to be a mass paradigm shift to affection and goodness, it is going to be the judgment of God on a cruel world; perhaps in 2012, but no one but God knows when. We do have a choice today as to which side we are going to be on that has nothing to do with metaphysics. It is a matter of whether we choose to believe God or man.
As the world continues to reject God and make its own answers to all of life, God continues to give man a chance to turn to him for the facts. It's so weird how the atheists can get a thimble full of knowledge and subtract from it that there's no God; there are mountains of information that they don't have a clue about. Could it be, that out there somewhere in all that information is the knowledge of God? The atheist way of thinking compares to the message of the first Russian cosmonaut in space. He claimed that. He could see no God. He had jumped only a miniscule hop into space and couldn't see God? How laughable, in a universe measured by light years.
So what's the truth? The only trusty source for truth is the Word of God; always has been and always will be. How can one know that the Bible can be trusted? The Bible can be trusted because nobody has ever proven it to be wrong scientifically, historically or another way. Read my articles on "Why I know the Bible is true".
The Bible is extraordinarily clear on whether we can know the actual facts. It says, "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free", John 8:32. The world is attempting to get to you, to drag you into believing a lie. Believing a lie is a dangerous thing. It can steer you away from God and his gift of never-ending life. Satan uses fraudulent means to fool those gullible enough to believe. Actually the Scripture claims Satan is so subtle that even the elect of Almighty God are close to being cheated.
In the world there are some tasty assertions that seem to seem sensible, but the Bible claims, "There is a way which appears right unto a person, but the end thereof are the manners of death", Proverbs 14:12. False religions and dogma have been around since the start of time and many have been deceived and have lost their eternal soul.
Today you can know the honest truth. Do you have a want in your heart to know God and to discover real truth thru his Word? In this world that is attempting to get to you, with all its false guarantees and wrong predictions and proclamations, you can discover the truth. Take the time now and discover how to become a Christian and know God and the freedom of his truth. There's just one way: Jesus related, "I am the way, the truth and the life and no man comes to the Heavenly Father but by me", John 14:6.
