Admit it. Reading books have become just another tedious task for a student and never the hobby that is used to be. If you've missed out the feeling of getting sucked in by the stories and lessons books give, then perhaps it's time to give yourself a right dose of reading. How can you do that? Here are some tips how:
1. Unplugging from the tube.
Unplug your television or your computer when there's time for yourself. Get that book you've been dying to read but never get the chance or find the time to. If you have some time to watch the television, then there's definitely a time you can allot for reading.
2. Carry a book inside your bag.
You can use some idle time like when riding the train, waiting for a doctor's appointment or during your office break to read. You can finish a chapter at a time if you are able to use this time to read.
3. Reading for someone else.
When you read to others, you are reading to yourself as well. Read for your child during bed time or while teaching them with their lessons, your partner, the elderly or your book club. It becomes a bonding exercise as well.
4. Take a day off from house work.
When you always run out for errands on a weekend or a particular day of the week, then take a day off if you can. Take this time to pamper yourself and relax. Grab a cup of tea, hot choco with marshmallows on top or a latte from your favorite coffee shop.
5. Wake up earlier or sleep later
It's not such a struggle to wake up 15 minutes earlier or sleep 15 minutes after to get some time to read. You do it with the television, might as well reserve some time for reading as well, right?
6. Making potty time reading time too!
This is not an uncommon thing to do. Most people do this to make that time useful to get some reading time.
Use these tips to slip in a little more time to read.
