The Way Thoughts Influence Nerves

By Karen Stewart

Our emotions are connected to our physical reactions. This means that if you have a physical condition, the speed at which you recover from it is determined by your thoughts and emotions towards it. For example, if you have a blood pressure that either shoots or drops, the tiniest thought may actually affect you. The article discusses thoughts influence nerves.

People always tend to think that the brain and the body are two differently functioning systems but these are organs which work hand in hand with each other. This is however not the case, and we prove it to ourselves time and time again. A good example, remember the last time you went on an interview, you tried to appear as calm as you could but in reality, your heartbeat rate was high, and you were maybe sweating more than usual.

Although you may agree that most physical states are influenced by emotions, it may not seem to be the case in other states while in fact, it is. Although understanding the relationship between the emotional and physical parts of our bodies do not automatically cure us, it helps us be in the lime light. We are able to understand the cause of different things in our lives.

That saying that for every action there is a reaction, the same applies to bodily and mind connection. For every emotion, there is a physical reaction. There is the aspect of worry. You may be worried that your child is late in coming home. You may be afraid when the child has been kidnapped. Both cases bring anxiety which causes various body muscles to tighten.

Worry and fear are almost the same. There is a very fine line between them. With both emotions one becomes have more anxiety? So this paragraph is about physical reactions to anxiety. For some people, they ran out of breath resulting in panic attacks. To others, they may constantly shiver or just become frozen, in that they cannot move, especially their legs.

Anger is another emotion that brews different reactions. For example, if someone is angry with you, you will apologize to them and try to make things right. When you are angry, you may bottle it up, and it may result in headaches and other body pains. There are many ways of releasing anger, talking, writing or even involving yourself in activities that will tire you out.

Memories also give us different emotions. When you remember something sad, you will not act the same way as you remember something good. Good memories bring joy to our heart and give us that warm feeling. A bad memory may cause you to sweat shake a lot and sweat like never before in your life.

In the past, you might have suffered illnesses or injuries that affected you both physically and mentally. If you try recalling them, you may have different reactions. If for example you were hurt in the stomach, you tend to clench it each time the memory surfaces. You may also imagine pain or even relieve it in your head.
