Sometimes just the act of writing it down is enough to keep you on track and focused. Writing your New Year resolution ideas down doesn't necessarily mean that you use a pen and paper. In this digital age, you can put your ideas in an online document or in your smart phone's notepad. Whatever medium you choose, make sure that you can locate it when needed.

Post your list. Place your list of resolutions in a spot where you see it regularly. In this way, it will constantly remind you of your goals and what you're trying to achieve. You can put your list by the bathroom mirror or the refrigerator door, for instance. These are probably the places where you come by consistently.

Read your list out load. Say your New Year resolution ideas out loud at a minimum of once daily. Turn this into your mini ritual. Do it just the same on a daily basis. This may be the best time to picture your success too. The longer you ponder on your resolutions, the better targeted they come to be and the more likely that they're going to show in you.

Visualize success. Know what accomplishing your resolutions will do for you. Day dream about it. Wish and ask for it. How does it look and feel? Reaching your dream only happens if you are motivated enough to stick with it. If you don't keep thinking about how much you want it and how good you will feel once you either accomplish it or make it a habit (or get rid of a habit), you will lose interest.

Take action. Ask yourself at the beginning of the day, what one action can you take today to keep you making progress on your New Year resolution ideas. Moving forward one step at a time is what you are after. Setting goals for the New Year gives a positive outlook on your life.
